Alzheimer’s disease: The retina as a window or mirror of the brain?

The retina has been considered a window or mirror of the brain in the context of neurodegenerative diseases, but there is controversy about this issue.

Aiming to give insight into this issue, we used for the first time a multimodal approach and investigated in both, an animal model of Alzheimer’s disease (AD), the 3xTg-AD mice, and AD patients, whether the retina can be used as a reliable tool for the early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease.

Este es un seminario internacional, organizado aprovechando la visita al IMIB del Prof. Ambrosio para un tribunal de tesis doctoral.
